The CTFA have officially announced that head coach Louis Lancaster will not continue his position of national team head coach.
Under Lancaster, Taiwan had attempted to play an attractive, passing style of football, but struggled to translate that into positive results. Particularly disappointing results include a 2-1 home loss to Nepal and a dismal 9-0 thrashing away in Kuwait, both during 2022 world cup qualifiers.
Lancaster, 38, had been promoted from assistant manager to Gary White when White left to manage the Hong Kong national side. Lancaster, whose contract was due to expire in January, is understood to have taken the news of his dismissal professionally and the CTFA thanked him for his efforts with the side.
